As you begin your first-day excursion in Egypt, begin the program by exploring the tours of Luxor's east bank. The first day on board will be spent viewing the Luxor and Karnak temples.
We've heard that taking a boat is the greatest way to visit these areas, so we'll do just that. We'll begin in the massive Karnak temple, where you can explore the historic ruins and learn about the region's history. You'll also have time to explore the surrounding area, which has a fantastic perspective of Thebes, as well as the Karnak Open Air Museum.
Following that, we will visit Luxor Temple, one of Egypt's most iconic temples. Although this temple was constructed during the New Kingdom period (1539-1075 BC), it had been a place of worship for a long time before that. On this day, there are numerous temples in the area to visit, some of which are dedicated to Egyptian deities such as Isis or Horus.
You will then return to your cruise ship and spend the night there.
Lunch and dinner are served.
After breakfast, you can enjoy a hot air balloon ride in Luxor (optional).
Today we will do the Luxor West Bank Tour Our first destination will be Queen Hatshepsut's temple, also known as Deir el-Bahri. Since its construction in the fifteenth century BC, it has been known as the temple of King Thutmose III's daughter. The temple was built to commemorate and honor Amen, who had aided Hatshepsut in her ascension to the throne by providing her with a celestial father figure in the person of Amen himself.
The Valley of the Monarchs is the next stop, a necropolis featuring numerous tombs of the New Kingdom of Egypt's monarchs and elite (1550-1069 BC). These include Tutankhamun's, Ramses II's, and Seti I's tombs.
Then we'll see the colossi of Memnon, which are two massive stone statues of Amenhotep III that were relocated to their current place in the 19th century CE.
Travel to Edfu via Esna and spend the night in Esea.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
We will spend some time exploring the historic towns of Kom Ombo and Edfu The Temple of Horus and the Temple of Sobek are two of Egypt's most important temples.
Your day will begin with a visit to Edfu's Temple of Horus. Here you may find some of the best Egyptian art and architecture. Horus, the god of sky and royalty with a hawk's head, was the centerpiece of the temple built by Pharaoh Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 BC). You will next travel to Kom Ombo Temple, where you will learn about its significance in relation to King Ramses II's quest to unite Egypt (1279-1213 BC).
Then, you will go back down the Nile and complete your great journey with a visit to Aswan.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
We will spend the entire day at Aswan. You will visit the Aswan High Dam, which stops 90% of the water from flowing out of Lake Nasser You will be able to learn about the dam's history and how it was constructed. Take a photo of the world's longest river running beneath the dam from the top of the dam.
Following that, you'll witness the massive Philae Temple, which was carved out of granite rock. You'll also view the spectacular Temple of Isis, one of only two temples left on the island of Philae, and the Unfinished Obelisk, which Ramses II began but never completed before his death.
